Here you will find all types of information regarding your child(ren)'s health!
Please keep your child home-
Fever- greater than 100 degrees
Vomiting- may return to school 24 hours after vomiting.
Rash- rash that is open and draining or a rash with a fever.
Contagious Disease- such as strep throat, pink eye, impetigo: may return to school after 24 hours of treatment with an antibiotic
Nuisance Diseases- such as scabies, head lice, ringworm: must be treated BEFORE returning to school.
Chicken Pox- your child may return to school 5-7 days after the onset of the rash, with all sores dry and scabbed over.
Do NOT return to school until 24 hours fever free without any medications ,such as NSAIDs.
Contact your child's school if...
your child will be absent. Please notify your child's school in the morning before 9:00 a.m. If your child is absent due to illness or injury. Otherwise, you will have 2 (two) days to put in writing to the school district to keep your child excused.
*If your child has a serious illness or injury that affects school participation, please notify the school health aide so a plan can be implemented to meet your child's needs. A doctor's note may be required.
What if your child is ill or injured at school?
Students who become ill or injured at school will be seen in the nurse's office by trained staff. If your child is unable to return to class, a parent will be contacted. If the school can't get to the parent, we will contact the emergency contact(s) that you have given to the school.
Physical Examines-
Kindergarten students required to have Physical, Dental, and Vision examinations prior to school entrance. We also recommend that students entering grades 4 (four) and 9 (nine) have a complete physical.

The school health aide provides a vision screening program at school for grades k through 8th (eight). This is done one time throughout the year. Referrals will be mailed home if your child requires further evaluation from a professional.
**(Referrals from either a staff member, parent, or student for a vision screening for students in grades 7-12 are available. Referrals also available for color blindness.)
Hearing-
The school health aide provides a hearing screening program at school for grades k through 3 (three.) This is done once throughout the year, unless the student fails, then rescreen.. Referrals will be mailed home if your child requires further evaluation.
**(Referrals from either a staff member, parent, or student for a hearing screening for students in grades 4-12 are available.)
Medications-
If a medication is needed during the school day, the following is necessary
For a Prescription Medication-
- A doctors signature with written instruction.
- Written consent from the parent for the school to give the medications.
- Medication is in a properly labeled prescription bottle.
For a Non-Prescription Medication-
- Written consent from the parent with instructions for the school to give the medication.
- Medication must be in the original container.
