If you think you might be interested in a career in business, or just want to do some exploring, Introduction to Business is a great place to start. Introduction to Business is a semester course that provides an overview of the world of business from an entrepreneurial (business owner) viewpoint. Business in the US economy, forms of ownership, organizational format, and activities performed in all businesses will be defined. The intent of the course is to expose students to six general areas of business that could be explored as possible career avenues. These areas include: management, human resources, marketing, financial management, production and operations, and entrepreneurship. As a student, you will learn about the economic concepts, and how you fit into the American economic system as wage earners, business owners, and investors. You will also learn about business organization and management principles. Introduction to Business will provide a basis for many high school and college business courses that may be taken in the future.
